Fall- Meet with your counselor. Dr. Cates will make sure you
have all of your classes lined up for graduation in 4 years! interested in! - Get involved in extracurricular activities! This looks great on you resume and college applications! Winter- Keep in contact with Dr. Cates! - Keep your grades up! Spring- Begin researching schools that have programs you're interested in! - Begin a list with your all of your extracurriculars so you don't forget them! Summer- Volunteer, intern, get a job or sign up for summer camps! Sophomore YearFall- Begin researching college admission requirements!
- Talk to Dr. Cates about taking AP courses! - Make sure you are keeping your grades up! - Work for leadership positions in your extracurriculars! Winter- Start volunteering or become involved with community service organizations! - Start prepping for the ACT! - Start researching possible careers! Spring- Attend college fairs! - Attend college rep visits! - Consider taking the ACT over the summer and register for it! Summer- Get a summer job to start saving money for college! |

- Register for the ACT test! - Sign up for College Rep Visits in the counselor's office - Meet with Mrs. Crossno - Keep taking ACT practice exams! Winter- Start researching scholarships! - Discuss with your family what they think about the schools you're interest in. Spring- Keep updating your list of extracurriculars! - Meet with your college adviser! - Take the ACT! - Make a list of 15-20 colleges you may be interested in applying to! Summer- If you're interested in the military contact a branch recruiter! - Register through the NCAA clearinghouse if you plan to play a sport in college! - Visit colleges! - Get a job! - Make a list of deadlines noting early admissions, scholarships, and any other important date! Senior YearAugust- Meet with Miss Murphy
- Research schools September- Narrow the colleges that you are interested in down to 5-10! - Have your ACT scores sent the schools you're going to apply to! - If you need to re-take the ACT register to do so! - Meet with your college adviser! - Go on campus tours - Attend campus rep visits October- Participate in College Application Week! - Apply to the colleges you are interested in (if you can not afford the application fees please see you're college adviser or Mrs. Crossno) - FILE YOURE FAFSA OCTOBER 1ST!!! - Research the institutional aid for the places you have applied! - Meet with your college adviser! November- Make sure you have applied to at least 3 schools! - Sign Mrs. Crossno's transcript request form when you apply! - Attend campus tours! - Attend campus rep visits! - Check your email for acceptances and financial aid letters! - Meet with your college adviser! December- Continue to check your email for financial aid awards or FAFSA verification - Make sure you have all of the necessary paperwork to the college/university -Meet with your college adviser! January- Keep your grades up for your last semester of high school! - Send your 7 semester transcripts to your college! - Look at the housing options you're interested in! -Meet with your college adviser! February- Make sure you have your FAFSA filed by the state deadline of February 1, 2018! -Apply for scholarships! -Meet with your college adviser! April- Let Mrs. Crossno and your college adviser know of the decision you have made to attend college! -Register for housing! -Register for orientation! May- Attend Decision Day! - Send in your housing deposits! - Graduate! June- Make sure you have requested your final transcript to be sent to your college! |
